My frustrations with the industry | Fat Freezing

Last week I was talking to a potential client who mentioned an alternative treatment to fat freezing in Melbourne– some form of micro magnetic (?) therapy. I have looked at the website (looks fancy) of the company involved, and tried to understand the mode of action of the machine and therapy – to no avail! There seems to be no clinical evidence that the treatment works!  I don’t want to name the company involved, however they make huge claims but there is no evidence of  clinical trials being conducted, that have then been peer reviewed and published in a reputable medical journal indicating that the treatment actually works. This makes me so mad!

Having worked in the pharmaceutical industry I am very aware of the huge costs that is takes to conduct a clinical trial, to get clinically based “evidence”. Official clinical trials are done under strict medical supervision, with a huge patient data base so that the results are averaged, over a long period of time, with the results being reviewed by many clinical specialists, who review the data, and the way the trial was conducted, to ensure that the results stated are correct and are able to withstand vigorous testing. The cost of clinical trials are extremely high due to all of these facts, so only equipment manufacturers that have proven results will invest the money into the trials. If you are selling a substandard machine, that won’t give you positive results then you wont invest in a clinical trial.  The medicos who put their name to the clinical trial result often risk their careers. If they get it wrong, their careers suffer.  Once a clinical trial has been reported with the conclusion contributed and agreed by these medical specialists is it then offered to a medical journal for publishing.  Medical journals have a standard and ensure that their published articles and trial results can withhold scrutiny, as their reputation as a source of reference to the medical and surgical industry relies on their reports and articles being accurate too.

As you can tell by the image attached being able to measure the thickness of the fat cells,  in skin is a real art and therefore without a specialists conducting before and after readings, the ability to prove the outcomes could vary greatly.

So, if you are looking for a fat loss treatment please ask the questions and be strong enough to request copies of the clinical trials, that have clinical evidence that the treatment works.

Unfortunately, when we are looking for a solution for weight loss, we are usually so desperate that we believe anything works. I know this, I have been there too. I have tried every herbal African mango Mexican cactus leaf extract to lose belly fat fast and it didn’t work.
