Fat Freezing on the Abdomen
For many women and men, abdominal fat is their biggest frustration. The most frequent Google search term for weight loss is "how to lose belly fat." It is also the most common area that we treat at Beautiful Body Clinics on both men and women.
Fat freezing presents an ideal solution for this exact problem. It works by precisely targeting tissue in the desired area.
Here's how fat freezing works: Through a process called apoptosis, fat cells are damaged when exposed to cooling temperatures. Over time, the body recognises these cooled tissues as damaged and eliminates them via the lymphatic system, effectively flushing them out. The fat cells destroyed during fat freezing are permanently removed from the body.

A few things to know about belly fat.
There are two particular types of fat on the human body.
Subcutaneous and visceral fat. Subcutaneous fat is the fat underneath the skin whilst visceral fat is fat around the organs including your stomach, liver intestines and heart.
Due to the location of visceral fat - it is considered the more dangerous fat due to the impact on these vital organs. Subcutaneous fat - the fat that you can pinch and that is underneath the skin is considered safer (but is considerably more unsightly).
Fat freezing works only on the subcutaneous tissue., there is no reduction in visceral fat.
Abdomen Fat Freezing for Men versus Women.
The genetic differences between men and women result in differing shapes and distributions of visceral and subcutaneous fat.
Women are often characterized by a pear-shaped figure, with more subcutaneous fat deposits around the hips, lower belly, and lower limbs. In contrast, men tend to accumulate more visceral fat in the mid-region, which contributes to a higher incidence of cardiac issues among men.
While both men and women are generally suitable candidates for abdominal fat freezing, an assessment is necessary to determine individual suitability for treatment.
Occasionally, a male may not be an ideal candidate for fat freezing despite having excess belly fat. This could be due to a thin layer of subcutaneous fat cells and a larger amount of visceral fat, causing the belly to protrude due to pressure against the abdominal muscle wall.

Consultation process and treatment plan.
During the consultation, we will examine your abdomen area to determine your suitability for the treatment.
In order to do so, we'll measure the thickness of the subcutaneous fat and measure the treatment area's size and flexibility to create a personal treatment plan for you.
Traditionally, four handles in a diamond shape will be positioned around the belly button, with the deepest part of the handles align with the thickest parts of the subcutaneous tissue.
However, for taller individuals with longer torsos, or heavier individuals with more subcutaneous adipose tissue, it might require six or eight handles to cover the entire belly area.
The image displays the traditional treatment shape known as a diamond on the abdomen. This positioning enables the deep parts of the fat to be drawn up into the peak of the handle, ensuring the most effective results.
The position, size, and number of applicator handle will be determined during your fat freezing consultation appointment.
