Fat freezing (also known as Cryolipolysis) or known as the trade name Coolsculpting, is just as effective on men as it is on women. However, applying the handles on men’s abdomens is usually more difficult because the fat and abdomen are usually tighter than what it is on women. Men tend to have tighter tummies. Men also tend to have larger longer abdomens (because of the length of their torso) so we sometimes need to apply 6 handles (3 on either side) rather than 2 on either side – as we do on most women. Although we can provide approximates for the number of treatment handles prior to an in-person consultation, sometimes this needs to change due to the length of the torso and the location of the fat. Sometimes for women, we need to apply 3 handles on either side of the abdomen) so that we can reduce the fat pad that lies underneath the rib cage. All of this is variable based on height, weight and desired outcomes.
